MEET THE CEO

This skills promotion and small business venture that will someday become and an admirable enterprise started in January 2018 after my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

One reason and inspiration that made me learn about unisex fashion was because I wanted to contribute to my family’s clothing needs where everyone will not lack clothes of any kind.

At first, I learned how to make only male clothes because I have more brothers and male friends than sister and female friends. Later, I decided to learn that of the female clothes as well so that I can make special clothes for my Mum and my beloved sister.

I utilized the opportunity that presented itself in a one-year Skill Acquisition Empowerment Development (SAED) program (December 2016 – December 2017) that was organized by the NYSC. I activated, groomed and started nurturing my sewing skills. I started sewing common household wears with my mother’s old manual sewing machine, which was her late mother’s gift to her at her wedding. It continued like that till the end of February 2018, then I decided to go and work for persons who were already established a fashion business to learn more trending patterns and how to use different industrial machines for different designs, which I did for two months (March and April 2018).

By the end of April 2018, I heard of an advertisement for an opportunity to teach tailoring in a Vocational Training Centre. I applied for the position, and I was successfully hired for the job. Yes, I got the job of Tailoring Instructor at Ofuobi Vocational Training Centre in Enugu. This job was so helpful to me such that it increased my motivation, speed, confidence, productivity, and perfected my skills and experiences. All thanks to God. By 2019, I had saved up some money which I used to buy one female mannequin testing and fitting clothes, and two industrial machines for faster and neater sewing. I was very excited to have made my brother’s wedding outfits in October 2019.

From a few friends’ mouth-to-mouth advertisement, other people from outside my family began to see my works and stated patronizing me. As I was gradually setting up my personal office, I still worked at the VTC. My students from OFUOBI VTC also helped in spreading words about my works and my excellent business attitudes. I worked with them till March 2022, and I resigned as I wanted to travel to Lagos, to learn more. There in Lagos I collaborated with another experienced tailor, where I gained more experiences on customers relationship and perfected more on my designs and business packaging. Afterwards, I got my own customized bags which I used for delivery, and a designing machine. I returned to Enugu in December 2022, prepared my small sewing office for operation.

In February 2023, I started advertising for students who wish to learn and for potential clients whose clothes will be made by me. And that was the birth of my small business enterprise that continues to grow until we are all over the world. I started with three students. Today, we continually graduated lots of students and tailors daily. From an intention to a plan to a try-out to a business and now to an enterprise with soon to have an international recognition.
